My school doesn’t offer French. It’s a small school in Alabama so the only language they offer is Spanish. I really really am interested in learning French but my father is more interested in Spanish, and so he will only (financially) support me learning Spanish. I’m not yet old enough to get a job, so I can’t afford software to teach me French or anything. What is a good website or technique that is free that might get me started?
I **** to say I probably won’t be able to download any free software. It upsets my dad, and he probably wouldn’t let me anyways since it’s Francais and he prefers Espanol (which I’m 100% not interested in.)
To clarify : He isn’t against French, he hasn’t banned it. He just will not support it. If I want to learn it, I will have to do it alone. That’s why I’m asking if there are any tutor sites to start me out until I can afford some software or anything. (:

I would love to learn Spanish that is spoken around here, not the Spanish that was learned by someone or from text books, which I have found tends to be very different than what my in-laws speak.
