I’m in 8th grade and I really want to learn Spanish or French to the point where I can speak easy sentences and words.
I’ve been learning Spanish since Kindergarten but the teachers have always been TERRIBLE so I only know the simple words and such.

Obviously I can’t go to the country, although I know it is the best method to learn a new language.

For example, would a software program work? If supplemented by practicing once in a while with speakers of that language?

Why I’m asking, is because I took Spanish for years and years, and I thought I knew a lot, but I guess I don’t because we had a foreign exchange student in our home recently and I really couldnt communicate too much with her.

Around here there are tons of ELL students who speak Spanish as a first langauge, and I want to teach around here. So thats my main reason for wanting to speak that language.

PLUS, I really want to learn French. I also live within a few hours of Quebec, am part French Canadian, and want to vacation there this summer. I’ve picked up a few things from a friend who speaks French, but not much.

So are there any really good software programs out there that could teach me both? If I really sat down and worked with the programs say 2 hours/week for each langauge would it work?
