Learn Spanish Verbs

I have heard the "best" way to learn a language is to submerse yourself in it. Since many of us cannot afford to go to other countries, that is somewhat of a problem. However, If you are in the states, thousands of people speak spanish. Maybe you could hook up with someone. Start learning simple terms and vocabulary and using them with that person. Listen to tapes/cds etc.. when you are driving in the car etc.... I know that when Spanish Children come to school here, they are in classrooms where English is spoken most. They get pulled out of class every now and then to work on vocabulary and build friendships etc.... Good luck...

Learn Spanish Grammar

There are some great resources available through Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, and the like. However, the best resource for learning a language is a native speaker. Talking with a native speaker is the best way to build spoken fluency. Starting lessons can sometimes be intimidating and slow, but building up speaking ability can happen quite quickly.

Apart from that, I try to contextualize language learning as much as possible. I'm studying Russian now, and I'm picking up vocabulary by putting Post-It notes on items in the house and at work. This helps me refer to an object I already know with a new word. With this method, I can learn multiple new words very quickly. This approach, however, does not address verbs or the grammatical system of a language.

The short answer is that it depends on your goals. Do you want to speak fluently? Know lots of words? Be able to write academic papers? Once you know what you're after, you can better decide how to proceed.
